Taking time out to speak with Hollywood Studio Magazine, the other day, Chebeir revealed, “Hickmar Productions’ “Texas Detours” starring Patrick Wayne and Priscilla Barnes will be released this spring. Judging from the audience response at special sneak previews held around the nation we feel we have a film that will bring people to the theaters.” More phone calls interrupted, and then Chebeir continued, “Hickmar Productions is currently at work on another movie which has a fascinating story line. It is called, “Strychnine” (tentative title) and revolves around a beautiful girl, whose “go-go dancer” past haunts her husband to the point where he plots to have her put away ina mental hospital. And here the plot darkens. The beautiful girl discovers to her dismay that she is caught in a web of sexual intrigue. The numerous sexual encounters she is forced to endure within the walls of the shabbily run mental institution, almost drives her insane. “Strychnine” is based on truth, and is full of excitement. There are tender moments of pathos, and moments of humor as well. In my career as a producer I feel this is the best script I have seen and cannot help but feel it will make remarkably good movie entertainment.” Chebeir continued, “We are also working on a new feature film, that will be co-produced with John Schubeck (NBC newscaster). It’s a comedy with impact most everyone can relate to. Almost everyone feels at one time or another he’s been taken advantage of by somebody, and that’s the basic theme in our film.” “This will be a big budget film with a name cast, with Hickmet Avedis directing under the Hickmar Produc
