By HARRY BIRCH 666 Now at Home W' ELL, well, the biggest news that Local 666 has to broadcast this month is about our new home. Local 666 has new headquarters with address at 1029 South Wabash Ave., Chicago. Visiting members will be welcome at all times and you will always find an easy chair to camp in, providing, your card is paid up to date. The young lady will be waiting at all times to "collect." Next month we will publish some photographs of our new home. However, don't forget the address when in Chicago. six sixty six Vacation Time It seems that even cameramen take vacations. I have looked around for some of the boys to find out what is going on, but no luck. Oh, well, vacation or no vacation, 666 must have the "Page" with its nice new heading an' ever'thing! six sixty six Reminiscing With the "timely gossipers" on vacation I was just wondering how many of the boys remember: When Gene Cour wore a derby and had three Fords stolen in one year. When Norman Alley made "stills" and thought he was the "cats" minus the mustache, and later drove a Buick touring with no brakes. When "Bull" Phillips and Charles David were making "black and white" comedies. When Charles Gies was chief title "shooter" at Rothacker's. When Rothacker's camera department claimed Wesley Smith, "Billy" Aldis, "Bing" Klingensmith, Eddie Linden, "Shorty" Ries, Tiry Miller and Harry Btirch. When Bill Strafford was putting the O. K. on expense accounts for Selig-Tribune. When George Bertram walked to work at Rothacker's. When Oscar Ahbe ran a post card studio and collected with a gun. When Martin Barnett hired a red cap (25c) to carry his Eyemo on a stunt. When Harry Birch wore a leather coat and made twelve stories a week for Fox News. When Sam Embers was an actor. When "Red" Felbinger was chief cameraman for Cathedral Film Company. Motion Picture Industries Local 666, I. A. T. S. E. and M. P. M. O., of the United States and Canada President Charles N. Wabash Ave., Chicago Bulletin — The regular meetings of Local 666 are held the first Monday in each month. When Charles Ford carried the "responsibilities" of the I. A. in Indianapolis. When Dave Hargan had hair and drove a Henderson car. When Howard Hurd chased copy around the Chicago Journal. When Granville Howe was chief cameraman for Otto Brinner, alias "Hyne." When Jack Rose owned 29 hats, actual count, and rode the Broadway car to work. When Conrad Luperti was the miniature expert. When John Seitz was boss of the wash room and Otto Himm was his trusted assistant. While you are with us, Brother Kelley, do not hesitate to call on Local 666 for any help that we might give When Max Markham was a race driver. When Bert Kleerup was skinny. When "Bull" Phillips was a prop man in Florida and advance man for a circus in Canada. When Shorty Richardson was a "still printer" in Paris. When Charley Boyle was in the transportation business in Chicago. "Check and double check." When E. R. Trabold wore spurs to ride a flivver in France. When Art Reeves bought a rundown Pathe from the great Phillips. When Walter Lundin was a swimmer in the Chicago river marathon. When Urban Santone signed his name Jr. When Red Kuersten and Sam Savitt were officials in the Punch Board Film Company. When Verne Blakely was an understudy of Jack Rose. When Harry Zech was "head" man of Essanay and among those present were Dave Hargan, Jack Rose, Art Reeves, Bill Miller, Smitty, Major Spoor and Frank Williams. Well, well, and so we could ramble on, but I wonder how many remember "way back"? six sixty six Visitor Chicago was honored by a hurried visit from W. W. Kelley, of Local 659. Brother Kelley rushed in on us, and wanted to know where he could buy an "arm full" of developing tanks and other equipment. His journey here seems to lead to Peoria, Illinois, you. six sixty six Police Call a Cop It seems that Brother Norman Alley will be forced to hire a policeman to watch his automobile. Brother Alley was "shooting" a story at the detective headquarters in Chicago, while his mighty Studebaker was standing outside. Finishing the job, he discovered his car was gone. Note. — Alley, why not buy a new Austin. You could take it inside with you. six sixty six Henry Sells Another? Business must be good or discounts lower — Brother David was seen with a new Ford roadster — maybe Charles won it in a beauty contest or somethin'. six sixty six Wires Will Be Wires It seems that in the building of a short wave radio receiver Brother Charles Ford needed some special wire to complete the job. He sent Brother Jack Barnett out in the afternoon to find this wire for him. Barnett in searching the town for this special wire met some of his old friends, and as it was very hot Jack (Turn Page) Tiucnty-ninc
