Longer insulation paths are provided by this new type of tube construction, thereby minimizing chances for leakage between elements and noises from that source. WEDOOURPAfiT Cobalt nickel alloy in the 205-D filament prevents sagging and breaking when the tube is placed in a horizontal position, and thoriated tungsten filaments in the 242-A prevent gas and short life, as was so frequently the case with older tubes, using oxide coated filaments.
