Every part is engineered for unmatched performance, simplicity of operation, stamina. Double Rear Shutter gives more light on the screen, less heat reaches the aperture KJmm The double rear shutter blades of the RCA Brenkert Projector travel in opposite directions within y$ inch of the same plane. Since they are so closely spaced no appreciable light leakage is possible between the blades. As illustrated in the diagrams above, the light is cut off more quickly because each blade must cross only half of the light beam to cut off all the light. As a result, this saved time permits the light to be left on the screen that much longer. For the same reason the opening-up process takes much less time than other types of shutters, again permitting longer light cycles. With the double shutter, total gain in light to the screen is 20 %. The need for a protective glass is eliminated since the shutter blades do not circulate disturbing air currents into the arc lamp.
