The amplifier chassis is flexibly mounted to prevent microphonic noise when the recorder is operating. As shown in Fig. 14 the phototube monitor assembly includes a deflector subassembly and a relay lens in addition to the amplifier chassis. The deflector transmits approximately 10 per cent of the incident modulated light through an aperture and the relay lens to a phototube mounted on the amplifier chassis. This chassis is located in the rear compartment of the recorder. Several types of driving motors are available.
