of the Society of Motion Picture Engineers
CONSTITUTION
a Past-President, an Engineering VicePresident, an Editorial Vice-President, a Financial Vice-President, a Convention Vice-President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer.
The term of office of all elected officers shall be for a period of two years.
The President shall not be eligible to succeed himself in office.
At the conclusion of his term of office the President automatically becomes Past-President.
Under conditions as set forth in the Bylaws, the office of Executive VicePresident may be vacated before the expiration of his term.
A vacancy in any office shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term in accordance with the Bylaws.
Article VI SECTIONS
Sections may be established in accordance with the Bylaws.
Article VII
BOARD OF GOVERNORS The Board of Governors shall consist of the President, the Past-President, the five Vice-Presidents, the Secretary, the Treasurer, the Section Chairmen, and twelve elected Governors . An equal number of these elected Governors shall reside within the areas included in the Eastern time zone; the Central time zone; and the Pacific and Mountain time zones. Article I
NAME
The name of this association shall be SOCIETY OF MOTION PICTURE AND TELEVISION ENGINEERS.
Article II
OBJECTS
Its objects shall be: Advancement in the theory and practice of engineering in motion pictures, television, and the allied arts and sciences; the standardization of equipment and practices employed therein; the maintenance of a high professional standing among its members; and the dissemination of scientific knowledge by publication.
Article III
MEETINGS
There shall be an annual meeting and such other regular and special meetings as provided in the Bylaws.
Article IV
ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSEIIP Any person of good character is eligible to become a member in any grade for which he is qualified in accordance with the Bylaws.
