Entered the Trade in 1909 on the exhibiting side in the capacity of manager. Early in 1914 joined Pathe Freres in charge of Exclusive Dept. 191 9, transferred to Leeds as Yorkshire Branch manager. Early 1920, promoted to sales manager, resigned from that position in April of 1921 to take up the position of general sales manager with Associated First National Pictures, Ltd., and in 1923 was made a director of the Company. Ltd.} Born at Bradford, Yorks, in 1882. Resigned municipal appointment in 1907 to enter the Kinema Industry, and is now managing director of Midland Empires Theatres, Ltd., controlling 14 kinema and variety theatres in Notts, Derby, and Yorks. He is a member of C.E.A. General Council for Notts and Derby ; member of Mansfield Town Council and President of Mansfield Branch of Toe H. He was appointed electrical engineer for the exhibition of the Lumiere Cinematograph, the first moving picture shown in London as a commercial proposition. Afterwards managing director of the Bristol Eureka Cinematograph Co., Ltd, Has had studio experience with Turner Films, Ltd. , played with the late Albert Chevalier in " My Old Dutch." One of the first members of the Bristol Branch of the C.E.A., and Secretary 1913 to 1915. Early in 1920 joined the head office staff of Albany Ward Theatres, Ltd., 1923. Born 188 5, and joined the entertainment indus try at Cardiff in 1904, first at the Empire, later at Olympia. Later managed the Stoll Pictuie Theatre, Kingsway and Stoll P.T., Newcastle. Mew general manager Picturedrome, Eastbourne, and managing director Amusements (Eastbourne), Ltd., and Kinema Playhouses, Ltd. Chairman, Sussex Branch C.E.A., and delegate to General Council. Graduate M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics (honours), Guy Medallist in Silver of the Royal Statistical Society for contributions to Statistical Science. Formerly Statistician to Tariff Commission, and Economic Adviser to Unionist Party. First interested in Trade about 1910. Joint managing director Ideal Films, Ltd. ; director Gaumont British Picture Corporation, Ltd., director Denman Picture Houses, Ltd. [ Past Chairman, Devon and Cornwall Branch C.E.A.} An enthusiastic advocate of the organisation of the Industry and one of the best known figures in kinema circles of the South-West,C.H. Rundle was born in 1 871 at Ridgway, Plympton, and educated at Plympton Grammar School and in Plymouth. He was instrumental in the formation of the Plymouth and District Entertainment Managers' Association. Out of this developed a Plymouth section of the Bristol Branch of the C.E.A., which his energy subsequently converted into an independent branch covering the whole of Devon and Cornwall. Address: — 49, North Street, Plymouth. Dixon Scott. Born 1883. Commenced Trade career 1908 at Jarrow-on-Tyne with "The Kino," Private address : — 39, Percy Gardens, Tyne mouth. George Urie Scott. Recognised as one of the pioneers of the Industry. Began in 1908 as an exhibitor, and gradually acquired a circuit of seven theatres in Scotland. He disposed of these a few years ago, but still retains an active interest in the Industry, and is director of some halls. In addition to being Past President of the Cinema Club, Glasgow, he is a Past -President of the Scottish Branch of the C.E.A. Address : — 95, Renfield Street, Glasgow. Mrs. Scott. [Managing Director, American Co. {London), Ltd.] Mrs. Scott holds a unique position in the Trade, for she is, we believe, the only lady occupying the position of managing director of a producing and film printing concern. She joined the American company in 1916, when her husband, the late W. C. Scott, joined up. She first became manageress of the firm's factory at Croydon, subsequently transferring her energies to the Wardour Street offices, from which she now presides as managing director.
