Faulkner. Born 1864 in Northants. Began life as a teacher. Left the profession in 1888 to become a journalist, reaching the editorial chair of a well-known weekly dealing with London government. Began study of moving-picture production and exhibition in 1909 ; wrote first regular criticisms of films in any British newspaper in the Evening News, in iqio, and became film editor of that journal. Resigned the film editorship of the Evening News in October, 1021, and established hit own Film Review. Founded the British Association of Film Directors. Acted as consulting engineer to large number of kinemas, including Embassy, Bristol : Forum, Bath; Savoy, Fareham ; Plaza, Gloucester ; Forum, Devonport ; Rex and Savoy, Coventry ; Rex, Blackheath ; Tivoli.
