Kinemas are let to African Consolidated Theatres, Ltd., for 40 years from Nov. 1, 1936, at rents aggregating £45,228 yearly, lessee has right to purchase all properties after November 1, 1941, during terms of leases at prices aggregating £568,752.
In 1932, Company and African Theatres, Ltd., and African Films, Ltd., effected amalgamation by transferring entire businesses and leasing respective theatres to African Consolidated Theatres, Ltd. At the same time they transferred film distributing interests to African Consolidated Films, Ltd. These two Consolidated Companies own or control greater part of entertainment industry of kinemas, theatres and music halls in Africa, South of Equator. Company owns 22 per cent of share capitals of each of Consolidated Companies.
