The number of kinemas is estimated at 33, with two more under construction. Nine at least are in the capital, Asuncion, where a modern theatre, seating 1,700, was due to open early in 1949. Admission prices : Range from 0.40 to 1.50 guaranis (1 guarani roughly US, $0.30). In 1946, the gross income of Paraguayan kinemas totalled approximately US, §300.000. Distribution : 450 feature films, 100 shorts and 150 newsreels are required annually.
