THE KING OF KINGS is an elaborate and reverent attempt to use the motion picture as a means of telling the greatest story in the world.
The film drama opens with the brilliant scene in the house of Mary of Alagdala, and here the elaboration of luxury is used to mark the contrast with the Magdalen's shame and repentance when she finds herself face to face with Christ.
