Le Film (1921-61) continued Le Panorama (1919-21), also edited by de Verneuil from the same publisher, Poirier, Bessette et cie. Smaller and cheaper, but featuring similar illustrated, translated stories of Hollywood stars, this Québécois fan magazine was published for many years, until at least 1960. In the 1930s, Le Film was promoted as “the only French-Canadian cinema magazine (l’unique revue de cinéma canadienne-française).” The publisher also issued Le Samedi weekly and La Revue Populaire monthly, from the same editorial team but offering general reading about popular culture.

12 LE FILM MYRNA LOY Née à Helena, dans l'Etat du Montana, une région sauvage et ardente. Très jeune, elle apprend l'équitation et surtout elle court les montagnes. Le père mort, la famille va s'établir en Californie. La jeune Myrna voulait apprendre la statuaire. Mais un jour un artiste photographe prend d'elle quelques poses exotiques : Rudolph Valentino est fascinée et il l'exige pour un rôle de femme fatale dans son film « Cobra ». L'actrice malgré elle n’est pas satisfaite de son interprétation ; cependant, par nécessité, elle doit solliciter des emplois de figurante. Grâce aux photos tant admirées de Valentino, on lui fait jouer les métisses, les Chinoises, les femmes fatales ; mais ces rôles sont bien secondaires. Enfin ! elle est la vedette d'un film : « Renegade », avec Warner Baxter. C'est la gloire ! Elle tourne par la suite un grand nombre de films, de plus en plus beaux ... Myrna Loy mesure cinq pieds cinq pouces ; cheveux et yeux noirs. Son grand plaisir est la lecture de biographies et le piano. Diverses photos de l'incomparable MYyrNA Loy, vedette de la M.-G.-M.
