A pound of bacon sputtered and turned crisp on the griddle. A pan of three-minute eggs sizzled as Doris Day shuffled into the room. "Good morning, Katie," she called out cheerfully, slipping onto one of the counter stools in front of the snack bar. "Breakfast ready?"
