RIGHT OFF THE REEL The Colorado Motion Picture Company has executed a contract with the Pan-American Film Manufacturing Company whereby they will release occasionally a four and five reel feature for the American and foreign field. These occasional releases will not in any way interfere with their contract with Warners' Features. C. G. Thompson, manager of the Victor Film Company, of Cleveland. O.. returned from Buffalo, where he went to attend a special showing of the Universal's production of "Samson." Mr. Thompson is very enthusiastic over this picture and is arranging for the presentation of it in Cleveland. Milton H. Fahrney has just completed a series of Western features for the Frontier Company, which were shown to a private audi ence recently. Mr. Fahrney brings his long legitimate stage experience to his aid in photoplays and he was one of the very earliest actors to enter the picture game. Wilfred Lucas has a star comoany under his direction now, with Cleo Madison. George Larkin. Frank Lanning and Gus Inglis. Lucas still suffers from his injured shoulder, but refuses to rest up. Edna Maison is featured in a comedy-drama called "The Transformation of Prudence," and in it Miss Maison takes the part of a Quaker girl who enters society and effects a cure on her erratic husband. The picture is directed by George Stanley. Ray Gallagher is acting opposite Miss Maison. Percy Standing has just completed a fourreel feature for the English market, entitled "The Red Flame of Passion," the New York rights of which are being handled by the De Luxe Feature Film Company. Carlyle Blackwell recently entertained on« hundred guests at his beautiful home in Lo» Angeles and it was a notable affair, being attended by all the stars from the studios, th« stage and the variety platform. Francis Ford is still hard at work on the "Lucille Love" series and is getting some startling results. Both Ford and Grace Cunard are doing fine work histrionically. A. H. Sawyer, Inc., whose office has just been opened on the eighth floor at 1600 Broadway, New York City, have produced a picture teaching the latest ballroom dances, with A. Baldwin Sloane and Grace Field a* the teachers. "The Transformation of Prudence" is the title of a comedy-drama on which George Stanley's Powers brand company has just started.
