HEARD IN THE LOBBIES
Arrangements are being made toward installing a new motion picture theatre at Olive Hill, Ky., which will be the second "movie" house in that town.
The Lewisburg Motion Picture Show Company, Lewisburg, Ky., is now exhibiting "From the Manger to the Cross" with remarkable success. The attraction has been heavily advertised and unusually large crowds are being attracted.
Pflanz & Hostetter, of Louisville, have begun the operation of an airdome theatre at Eminence, Ky. Good crowds have been attracted from the 6rst, despite the fact there are two other ir.'ilion picture houses in the town.
Th-_' Gem Theatre, at Somerset, Ky., has been purchased by C. C. McClure, of Clearfield, Ky., an employe of the Morehead & North Fork Railroad Company.
"The Venetian Garden," the first of the open-air motion picture theatres to be establisiipc' in Trenton, N. J., has just been opened at Washington and Anderson streets, by Henry D. Kehr, a prominent druggist, and Pearson H. Hume. The admission will be five cents.
The Alamo Theatre, Twenty-fourth and Fort streets, the latest show house in Omaha, is a typical modern house. The floor is sloping, there are lights that do not permit the room to be plunged into darkness when a film slips, and the ventilation is ideal. Frank Harrington, manager and proprietor, is showing Universal films.
A new airdome began its career at Sixth and Pacific streets, Omaha, under the management of M. J, Barrow. Universal films will shown during the summer.
The Gayety Theatre, of Omaha, featuring the six-reel production, "Smashing the Vice Trust," not only resorted to sandwich board carriers and wagons being driven about the street, but had a wagon in a big circus parade, on which were gigantic signs advertising the film.
"Who is your favorite, Mr., Mrs. or Miss Movie Fan?" is a feature being carried on by the "World-Herald," an Omaha newspaper. The "fans" are supposed to write their preference to the paper and the favorite receiving the greatest number of recommendations in a week will be shown the next Sunday. The same plan is being carried on in Chicago and elsewhere.
