Chicago, April 12.— ''A Family Affair," with Olsen and Johnson on the stage at the Oriental, were top draws of the week, with a take of $23,600. This topped normal by $8,600.
"Waikiki Wedding" at the Roosevelt and "Maytime" at the U. A. did excellent business in their second s weeks. "Swing High, Swing Low" at the Garrick was another strong attraction and the house showed a nice profit.
The Palace, with "Top of The Town," got off to a fast start, but business suffered a slump the later part of the week. At that the gross for the week was $21,600.
Total first run business was $148,600. Average is $130,500.

Kansas City, April 12. — "Personal Property" was the best draw of the week with $14,900 at the Midland on a dual with "Find the Witness." The weather was unseasonably cold and the nine-day Shrine circus at the Municipal Auditorium was competition.
"Waikiki Wedding" was the only other show to climb across par. With "Midnight Court" it went $500 above $7,000 at the Newman in its second week.
"The Good Earth" at the Orpheum, grossed $12,500 and was held.
Total first run business was $40,300. Average is $37,500.

Another effort will be made to have 20th Century-Fox Film Corp. increase its offer for the Roxy, Samuel Kramer, counsel for the Roxy stockholders, revealed yesterday at the hearings on the proposed plan of reorganization now being held before Special Master Addison S, Pratt.
An adjournment until 2 P. M. today was taken to allow W. C. Michel, 20th Century-Fox executive, to communicate with Sidney R. Kent, president, by transatlantic telephone when the latter arrives in London. Alvin Schlosser, a member of the noteholders' protective committee, testified that he valued the theatre at $5,500,000. He said the plan was fair to bondholders and noteholders and "unfortunately fair" to stockholders.

Cleveland, April 12— Nat Wolf, Warner zone manager, is being honored by the managers of theatres in his division with a 44-day drive for record business. Prizes, which are du plicated in the northern and southern divisions are : first prize, an extra week's vacation with pay ; second prize, $50, and $100 for the winning district manager.
History" Up With $12,000 At Washington
Washington, April 12. — "History Is Made at Night" was the surprise picture of the week. It took $12,800 to exceed the weekly average by $2,200.
"Swing High, Swing Low" at the Earle reached $20,100, over par by $1,700. The return to the stage with his own act of Bert Granoff, one-time house tenor, helped.
"The Good Earth" as a roadshow at the National was good for $14,000. While an average is not available on this usually legit house, this take is approximately $4,000 under both "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Great Ziegfeld."
Total first-run business, excluding the National and Rialto, was $77,600. Average is $73,700.

Reserve Ruling on Katz Claim
The Circuit Court of Appeals reserved decision yesterday on the appeal taken by the Irving Trust Co., ParamountPublix trustees, against the allowance of the $265,000 claim made by Sam Katz. Special Master John E. Joyce expunged the claim after a hearing, but Federal Court Judge Alfred C. Coxe reinstated it. Katz alleges that he was employed as vice-president of the company on a two-year contract on Jan. 1, 1932. His contract was terminated on Oct. 26, 1932, and he is making a claim for salary allegedly due him.
Ask Cohan Suit Dismissal
Maurice A. Richmond, and Max Meyer, who do business as the PaullPioneer Music Co., filed a motion in Federal Court yesterday to dismiss the complaint of George M. Cohan for $100,000 royalties on 49 Cohan songs. The motion is made on the ground that the Federal Court lacks jurisdiction to hear the suit and that the complaint failed to set forth a cause of action. Judge Robert T. Patterson will hear the arguments on April 20.
Orders RKO Claim Finding
Federal Court Judge William Bondy yesterday ordered Special Master Richard J. Scrandrett to determine a complicated claim of $11,629 against RKO. The Hanover Capital Trust Co. alleges that it is the assignee of a claim from Alfred E. Fliegel. The Trenton Advertising Co. has made a demand to participate in the allowance to the extent of $3,000. Scrandrett is also holding hearings on the claim for $5,161 against RKO by the Trenton Advertising Co.
Columbia Dividends Set
Columbia Pictures has declared a quarterly dividend of 68^4 cents per share on the $2.75 convertible preferred, payable May 15 to holders of record May 4.
The company also will pay 25 cents per share on the common June 21 to common and voting trust certificate holders of record June 1.
Governor in Rogers Film
Oklahoma City, April 12. — Gov. E. W. Marland of Oklahoma posed here for Harry Loud, M-G-M' cameraman, who is in the state filming scenes to be used in the short subject which will be employed in the theatre drive for the Will Rogers Memorial Fund.
