Cardinal Mclntyre said that the "clergy is particularly urged to comply with the recommendations of the Bishop's committee and make a crusade for patronage of only the good pictures a real apostolate." He said that while the motion picture Production Code "has been helpful and cooperative in many ways, another large sector of the industry is not under the Code's influence" and the clergy is "urged to bring the dangers present to the attention of the individual, as the occasion arises."
