Mindful of the hit scored by the same two stars in the picture in which they previously appeared together, each of the ads in the national series carries the legend, "The Magnificent Stars of 'Magnificent Obsession' Reunited!". The panel sections of this ad show the other characters of the picture with examples of the dialogue between them. Twenty-two national magazines, with a combined circulation of over 100,000,000, will carry advertisements for "All That Heaven Allows". Following is the powerful combination for the pre-selling campaign in issues in circulation during this month: Life, Look, Woman's Home Companion, McCall's, Redbook, Family Circle, Woman's Day, True Story, True Confessions, Cosmopolitan, Photoplay, Modern Screen, Motion Picture, Silver Screen, Movie Life, Screen Stars, Screen Stories, Movieland, Hollywood Stars, Filmland, and MacLean's (Canada). • "Trail," "The Deep Blue Sea," "Queen Bee," and "I Died A Thousand Times," are reviewed and recommended in the December issue of "Woman's Home Companion." • Niven Busch, who wrote six novels, including "Duel in the Sun," has written an interesting story on the Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis feud for the December issue of "Redbook." A full page of production photos taken on the "Artists and Models" set appears with the informative article. This is the latest Martin and Lewis picture. • A striking full page ad on "I'll Cry Tomorrow" appears in the December issue of "McCall's." • Hollis Alpert has written an entertaining article about Wildfire, the bull terrier dog starred in M-G-M's "It's a Dog's Life," for the December issue of "Woman's Day." A private screening for bull terrier dogs was held at the M-G-M studio. Photos showing the dogs sitting in the front row of the screening room illustrate the article. Alpert says, "they seemed quite unaware of the distinctive nature of the occasion, except for one that yelped when the sound track gave off a lot of barking." • "The Desperate Hours" and "Three Stripes in the Sun," were selected by "Family Circle," the top pictures of the month in the December issue. Attractive production photos are used to illustrate the reviews of these films. • "Umberto D" the Harrison-Davis release directed by Vittorio De Sica is reviewed in the December 5 issue of "Life." Ever since "Shoeshine" the movies of Director De Sica have been hailed for their penetrating realism and pathos, reports "Life." In "Umberto D," which he named after his own father and dedicated to him, De Sica used only amateur actors. • The entire last portion of Bette Davis's interesting autobiography in die Dec. 9 issue of "Collier's" is devoted to "Storm Center," the new Columbia picture. Full color photos of Bette on location for "Storm Center," and with her children, illustrate this entertaining article. • Spencer Tracy, star of "The Mountain," which is being made in the French Alps, will be on the cover of "Parade's" December 11 issue. The cover photo is in full colors with a snow-covered mountain in the background. In the same issue is an interesting profile of Tracy and photos taken on location in the Alps. Selznick will leave for Europe in mid-January with his production staff to set up locations in Switzerland and Italy for the filming of Ernest Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms." Rep.
