The results appear to be edifying. The Italians, it was said, although they “were taken by surprise” with the enterprise, have welcomed its advent with enthusiasm. Because there is no Italian phrase equivalent to drive-in, the American one has been used, with the Latin-derived “Cine” added as an expletive (Figure One).
