I NEW PRODUCTS . . that have theatre interest i i A Compact Ice Maker A small-size Super Flaker Automatic Ice Machine that can make up to 100 pounds of crushed ice daily has been announced by Scotsman, Queen Products Division, KingSeeley Corp. A compact unit, the new Model DF-4 Super Flaker can be used either as a “built-in” or as a floor-mounted machine. It requires three square feet of floor space, is three feet high, two feet deep and one and one-half feet wide. The new model manufactures crushed ice with the same type of freezing and flaking mechanism used in the larger Scotsman Super Flakers. There is one moving part under refrigeration. The system includes a Vs hp, 110-115 volt, single-phase, 60-cycle com¬ pressor using “Freon 12.” The unit is her¬ metically-sealed and air-cooled and carries a five year warranty, the manufacturer states. An insulated stainless steel compartment stores up to 35 pounds of flake ice. A hinged, insulated door provides user access. Once the machine is turned on, it provides a continuous flow of flake ice into the storage bin. When the bin is full, a thermostat automatically shuts the machine off. As ice is removed below the thermostat level, the machine again turns itself on to refill the bin. TENDER VENDER Popcorn Dispenser With more and more people seeking diver¬ sified entertainment reflecting in smaller crowds in more places, the “Tender-Vender,” a new popcorn dispenser, has been offered by the Popcorn Service Company, which is suitable to locations doing from $15 to $25 per day in popcorn volume. The “Tender-Vender” is a non-coin oper¬ ated device that tenderizes and dispenses specially seasoned popped corn. It can be serviced from one or more location-type popping machines. The use of the location machines to supply these warmers can pro¬ vide added aroma and animation, as well as additional revenue.
