Police and juvenile officers in nearby Kenton County, Ky., are checking complaints that juveniles have been bringing in intoxicants for consumption at the Dixie Garden DriveIn in Lookout Heights. . . . New owners in this area are Ray Lewis, who bought the Waverly Drive-In, Waverly, O., from A1 Boudourie. Also, the Man Drive-In, Man, W. COLUMBUS, O., NEWS — The Sixth Street, Coshocton, O., purchased last spring by the Coshocton Tribune from Warner Brothers, is being remodeled for use as a warehouse. . . . The Ohio Legislature ad¬ journed without voting on several censor¬ ship and film regulation proposals. None of the proposals got out of committee. Next regular session starts January, 1961. It is considered likely that pro-censorship forces then will try again to push through some form of film regulation. . . . John F. Murphy, executive vice president of Loew’s Theatres, Inc., has announced the promotion of Sam Shubouf, manager of Loew’s Indianapolis, to Loew’s Ohio, Columbus, where he will succeed Walter Kessler. Kessler will take over the reins of Loew’s Warfield, San Fran¬ cisco, from William Elder, who becomes Loew’s Northeastern Division Manager with headquarters in Boston. Ken Croft, presently assistant manager of Shea’s Buffalo, Buffalo, will move to Indianapolis. CLEVELAND Marshall Fine, acting president, Independent Theatre Owners of Ohio, in anticipation of the Oct. 26-28 ITOO convention in Columbus, last week held the first meeting of his newly appointed convention committee consisting of Frank Murphy, Loew Theatre division man¬ ager, Cleveland; Sam Schultz, Selected The¬ atre Circuit, Cleveland; Jack Armstrong, head of the Armstrong Circuit, Bowling Green, and Louis Wiethe, Cincinnati. . . . The Salesmen’s Club of Cleveland has named a committee of five member speakers who are available either as a group or individually to any exhibitor in this territory to speak before local organizations, civic or service groups on motion pictures and the motion picture industry. . . . Justin Spiegle has resigned as Imperial salesman. . . . Bob Blitz, Warner salesman, is reportedly doing fine after surgery in Euclid Glenville Hospital. . . .
