Steenbeck Machines Being Offered In U.S. The Steenbeck line of editing, viewing and re-winding machines, made in Germany, is now being offered for sale in the United States by their representatives, the Gaston Johnston Corporation. The equipment is cur¬ rently in use in Germany, Scandinavia, France, England and many other European counti'ies and in much of Australia, Asia and South America. The line includes two, four, and six film editing machines for 16mm, 35mm and Cinemascope film, motorized re-winding ta¬ bles for 16mm, 35mm and combination 16/35mm film, the company states. The company offers the following features in its equipment: 1) — quiet, safe and easy to operate with no danger of getting fingers caught in reels. Easy to learn. Loops are non-existent. 2) — a large viewing screen (eight and a quarter by 11 and a half inches) and excel¬ lent magnetic and optical sound reproduc¬ tion. No need to change rollers for magnetic or optical sound. 3) — Infinitely variable editing possibilities with rapid adjustments possible in locating exact video and audio frames. 4) — spacious table top on which all splicing, editing, etc., can be done while operator is seated at equipment. Certain models feature motorized rewind¬ ers, with other models especially made for cinemascope and six plate models (two for video, four for audio) can be supplied, the company states. US.
