Movie Attendance Near Pre-TV Level Seen By Supplier A major supplier is stepping up his sales activities in the theatre market because he believes attendance this season may “bounce back to figures closely approximating pre-TV days.” Rex Sallis, national sales manager in charge of the theatre market, Dixie Cup Division of American Can Company, said sales by theatre concessions of hot and cold drinks, ice cream, popcorn, milk shakes, and other food or snack items have been grow¬ ing steadily. “The theatre market has taken on much broader dimensions this year in our sales planning,” Sallis said. “Many motion picture industry officials are expecting the biggest year since 1946. Most of the major studios are turning out blockbusters for 1960 re¬ lease. We believe, therefore, that our own theatre market prospects this season are the brightest in years.” 70mm Installation Set For Trinidad Photo shows Horace Teelucksingh, gen¬ eral manager of the Roodal Theatres (West Indies) Trinidad, Barbados, and British Guina, being introduced to Rus¬ sell V. Downing, president of the Radio City Music Hall, by Frank E. Cahill, Jr., sales manager of Century Projector Cor¬ poration. While in New York, Teelucksingh ap¬ proved an order for Westrex Trinidad, a division of Litton Industries, to supply and install the latest 70/35mm sound and projection equipment, including Century Model J Projectors, Ashcraft Super-Cinex Arc Lamps, and Westrex Multi-Channel Sould in Roodal’s de lux Port-of-Spain. McNally Becomes 100,000th Holder ROCHESTER — Kevin McNally, 18-year-old New Yorker, became the 100,000th Kodak shareholder, announced Dr. Albert K. Chap¬ man, president of Eastman Kodak Co. McNally acquired 10 shares of common stock with money he had saved by working part-time in a supermarket. According to a recent survey, the young “capitalist” is a typical Kodak shareholder. He owns less than 100 shares, as do 70 per cent of all who own shares, and he lives in New York City, as do nearly 10 per cent. A person who purchased one share of common in 1884, when the company was in¬ corporated, would have seen his investment of about $100 grow in value to more than half a million dollars at today’s market prices. Through splits, dividends, etc., the original share would have grown to a total of 5,842 shares today, or more than $528,000 at current prices.
