As a dolly with clamps, the Versa -Dolly may be used for low tracking dolly shots only 12 inches off the ground. It has three heavy rubber four inch swivel tires with wheel locks that insure a safe, smooth and silent shot. The manufacturer states it will support all medium weight 16mm cameras and tripods and that as a tripod triangle with clamps, Versa-Dolly extends from 37 to 56 inches; and will hold the heaviest of tripods and cameras firmly clamped. Supporting legs are 2% inches wide. As a Hi-Hat, Versa-Dolly is only 8 inches high and will support heavy cameras. Versa-Dolly can be used with the S.O.S. Jr., S.O.S. Visco-matic, Pro Jr., Miller or O’Conner tripod head. As a baby tripod, Versa-Dolly is 17 inches high. The device is guaranteed for 5 years and has built-in level¬ ling indicators. Protective's Bakelite Withstands Time, Weather Outdoor screens that meet the rigorous demands of modern movie projection tech¬ niques are coated with a Bakelite vinyl resin mixtuie that also withstands both time and weather, it is claimed. Developed by Protective Coatings, Inc., Cinemaplastic consists of Bakelite vinyl resins mixed with several different pigments to produce the desired finish. Applied in a single coat by spray or roller to the entire screen structure, it forms a skin, like that used to mothball ships after World War II. Aluminum pigments in the coating provide depth and reflectiveness, while white pig¬ ments make the projected image bright and clear. The coating has a matted surface that reflects the image clearly to the edges of the theatre without so-called hot spots of light that would reduce contrast and wash out color in the picture, the company states. Resistant to moisture, temperature changes and aging, the pigmented skin, based on Bakelite vinyl resins, is washable and retains its brilliant whiteness after years of exposure. 42 PHYSICAL THEATRE .
