International Interest Stirred by TOA Council Details of the operation of the Council for the Improvement of Theatres and Motion Picture Projection have been sent to the Theatre Owners Association of Bombay, India, by Theatre Owners of America, explained George G. Kerasotes, TOA president. Kerasotes said he forwarded a complete blueprint of the Council’s organization and program to V. Doraiswamy, secretary of the Indian unit. Doraiswamy had written for de¬ tails, explaining his Association was inter¬ ested in forming a similar Council. Doraiswamy was particularly interested in the free technical service provided under the Council’s program, and Kerasotes explained that the cooperating Council members — TESMA, TEDA, IATSE, SMPTE, Altec Serv¬ ice, RCA Service, Lorraine Carbon and Na¬ tional Carbon — were volunteering their serv¬ ices for the good of the industry, and in order to help raise the level of projection among the nation’s theatres. This was the second international query on the Council’s program. The British Film Producers Association also wrote to Kera¬ sotes, to coordinate its program with the Council’s. The British group is seeking im¬ provement in the quality of sound projection. Kerasotes reported the Council is continu¬ ing to receive inquiries from theatres for technical service, and that the requests are being immediately forwarded to equipment and supply dealers certified by TEDA and TESMA as cooperating with the program. new model H projector mechanism: NEW “AIR FLOW” VENTILATION — Reduces destructive heat and shutter noise.
