1. RICKY NELSON RECORD PROMOTION TIE-UPFull advantage should be taken of the Imperial Record Company tie-up for which Ricky Nelson records. Obtain a window display with the music stores, featuring Ricky Nelson records along with material on the picture, theatre name and playdate.
A Ricky Nelson Record and Theatre Ticket Package could be formed to work as follows. On certain days, at certain hours, primarily directed at teenagers, a special certificate may be issued with each ticket purchased, which upon presentation at the music store would entitle the bearer to purchase any Ricky Nelson record for a substantial discount. All local Ricky Nelson Fan Clubs should be notified of this arrangement. The package should be advertised in the window displays, the theatre lobby and through newspapers and top teenage Disc Jockeys.
Local Disc Jockeys may be contacted to make arrange¬ ments to heavily plug Nelson’s records along with equal time to the picture.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR • Gil Green, supervisor of theatre operations for United Detroit and Northio Theatres, has been in exhibition for over 30 years. Starting as an usher at the Redford Theatre, a Detroit suburban house, Gil moved through the normal channels of assistant manager, manager of various United Detroit Theatres, including managing director of UDT's flagship, the Michigan Theatre. In 1951, he was moved from the Michigan to assistant supervisor of United Detroit and operational supervisor of Northio Theatres. Approximately a year later, he became supervisor of United Detroit Theatres and Northio Theatres under the guidance of the late Harold H. Brown. Gil is holding this position at the present time under the leadership of Woody Fraught, president of United Detroit Theatres. Gil Green is married and has three children and two grandchildren. His hobbies are photography and fishing.
