Cutout heads of Astaire and Powell with -names in ribbon effect at top tied in the setpiece. Display was made by artist Gene Douglas for Ed Crabtree, city manager for Publix Great States Theatres. Folks in Memphis, Tenn., were recently treated to the sight of an ox-drawn cart, which was part of the street bally put over tinder the direction of Howard Waugh for the "Virginia City" date at the Warner Theatre. Ballyhoo man covered main streets week ahead of opening. Giving the effect of moving clouds and rippling water was the animated lobby display created for "Pinocchio" by Jack Simons at Loew's Poli, Hartford, Conn. Lights and shadows completed the effect. Round Table n Pictures Completely made of paper materials and in thirn dimension is the above poster used at the New Yovl Roxy for date on "My Little Chickadee." Under the supervision of ad head Homer Harman, work w,a\ turned out by jack Eisner. Gag lobby display was created for "Elizabeth anu\ Essex" at the Palace, Athens, Ga., by L&J city manager Moon Corker, consisting of 17th Century bed] room concealed behind Venetian blinds.
