CALDWELL managing director of the Esquire Theatre Co., in Toledo, passed away at his home. V ROY E. MARTIN of Columbus, Ga., is building a new house in Americus, Pa. V CAROL E. WHITE has been appointed manager of the Drive-In Theatre in Columbus, S. C. V GEORGE HIGGENBOTTOM operator of the Rio, in Philadelphia, has taken over the operation of the Rio, in Chester, Pa. V DAVE SILVERMAN will open his new Dix Theatre, in Wrightstown, N. J. V DAVE STARKMAN has reopened his Cinema Arts Theatre, in Philadelphia for the fall season. V BILL GERST has returned as manager of Hunt's Rockland, in Philadelphia after summering in Wildwood, N. J., as co-manager of the Ocean Pier there. V SIDNEY MUNTER has returned as manager of Warner's Grand Opera House, Wilmington, Del., leaving Warner's Stanley, Atlantic City where W. S. PERUTZ has taken over. V JACKSON T. ECKENRODE has been advanced to assistant manager of the Strand, in Wilkes Barre. V JAMES MACFARLANE has joined the Hall Horne organization. MacFarlane formerly handled publicity for the Radio City Music Hall. V KEN ROCKWELL is now managing the Warner Steuben Theatre, in Hornell, N. Y. V DAVID WEINSTEIN formerly of the Studio Theatre, is now managing the Cedar, in Philadelphia. V JOSEPH CITRON has been appointed assistant manager of Loew's State, New York City. V LEN GROTTE manager of the Prospect, has been transferred to the Broadway Mayfair, succeeding JACK FIEMAN, resigned.
