Some 400 persons are expected, including mami facturers, advertising agency executives, engineertalent from the amusement industry and man executives of a film industry interested in tele vision's potentialities, and potential competition. Among the speakers who will address separat panel meetings, and the general convention, will b Lee Cooley, of Ruthrauff and Ryan, advertisin agency ; Irving Shane, Television Workshop ; Her bert (jraf, Metropolitan Opera Association; Robet Emery, Bamberger Broadcasting Service ; Edwar Sobol, National Broadcasting Company ; Pav Raibourn, Paramount ; Ralph Austrian, RKO Tel vision Corporation, and Ralph Beal, RCA Labor tories. Mr. Beal's address will be on "Television Broad casting as Related to the Theatre." Mr. Raibour will talk on "How Theatres Can Use Television Talent of screen and stage is expected to partici pate in discussions. State Dimes Drive Chairmen Named Acceptance of appointments to act as state chaii men in the 1945 March of Dimes, received thi week by Nicholas M. Schenck, chairman, indicate' that the majority of industry leaders who serve as state leaders in the 1944 campaign again wij act for the January 25-31 drive. f Among the first to respond to Mr. Schenckf invitation to serve were : Harold J. Fitzgerak Wisconsin ; Roy Rowe, North Carolina ; Harry I Nace, Arizona ; William C. Sears, Minnesota!' Warren Irvin, South Carolina ; Max M. Yellei' western New York; Rodney Toups, Louisiana. Mr. Schenck also has received the first enlisi! ment of theatres, although the pledges had not y€ been printed. The Cumberland Assessment Corri pany, operating the Park and Dixie theatres McMinnville, Tenn., sent in their pledge for th 1945 drive. With 1,200 seats, these two house reported $502.50 in 1944 collections.
