HEATREMEN'S ACTIOS : city director Elliott Johnson's unique display Double horror show at the Strand theatre, emphis, Tenn., was real attention-grabber. 1 six-sheet cutout and montage of still shots set gainst valour background created this attractive bby display to help publicize "Janie" at the ptown theatre in New York for manager Cliff Loth. At the Keith theatre in Indianapolis, hiarrlson's circus did yeoman work for manager Bill Wrlghtsman as ballyhoo and entertaining at servicemen's hospitals, resulting in fine publicity breaks. Built right around the box office, this display on "Sweet and Lowdown" proved effective ballyhoo for Bill Eagen at the Princess, Sioux City, Iowa. The entire front carried out musical theme of the film. At left, manager David Levin and publicist Rita Morton, RKO Albee, Providence, R. I., tied up with Royal Crown Cola, distributor, for truck banners on "Gypsy Wildcat". Promotion was used In advance and current with playdates. Eye-filling lobby setplece on "Marine Raiders" employed by H. S. dough, reached from floor to celling at the Strand, Alemeda, Cal.
