Grace Haskins ' Song Will Accompany Picture '• Just Like a Woman " is the title of a song soon to be released in conjunction with the Grace S. Haskins production of the same name to be released March 18 through the W. W. Hodkinson Corporation. The words of the song were written by Grace Haskins, youthful female producer of the picture. Milt Hagen, prominent writer of successful melodies, wrote the music. " Just Like a Woman " is a five-reel comedy drama. It features Marguerite De La Motte, George Fawcett and Ralph Graves. R. V. Anderson Engaged as "U " Sales Exploiteer Richard V. Anderson, formerly sales manager of the International News Reel Corporation, has resigned to join the Universal Pictures Corporation as sales exploiteer. This is a new post created in the Universal organization and will co-ordinate all nationally projected methods of encouraging sales. "Covered Wagon" to Open on B'way March 16th JAMES CRUZE'S Paramount production, "The Covered Wagon," will formally open in New York at the Criterion Theatre Friday, March 16. John C. Flinn who went to Hollywood some weeks ago to complete his plans for the exploitation of the picture, arrived in New York with the finished print which will first be given a special showing at the Plaza Hotel March 11 under the auspices of the Film Mutual Benefit Bureau. Before leaving the Coast, Mr. Flinn completed arrangements for the presentation of " The Covered Wagon " in Southern California, which will be under the direction of Sid Grauman. The theatre for the California premiere has not been definitely decided upon, although it may be Grauman's Hollywood Egyptian. An exploitation campaign for the production has been in progress for the past several months under Mr. Flinn's supervision. A feature of this drive has been a huge electric sign in New York with the name of the picture in letters twenty feet high. Teaser snipes and twenty-four sheets have also been used extensively. Mary Pickford Not to Produce "Faust" MARY PICKFORD has abandoned her plans to produce " Faust " for the screen in which she was to appear in the role of Marguerite. Instead she will appear as " Rosita," a dancing girl, in a fifteenth century romance of Spain written by a Berlin dramatic critic. The new subject will be directed by Ernst Lubitsch. Following this, Miss Pickford will carry out her original plan of producing " Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall." Ferdinand Earle, who as was recently announced in MOTION PICTURE NEWS, has been working for fourteen months on a screen adaptation of Goethe's " Faust," is continuing with his preparation for a film version of the subject. He is now perfecting his script and designing settings. New Units Start This Week for Principal Pictures IRVING CUMMINGS will produce " East Side West Side," adapted from Cromwell's stage play, for Principal Pictures. Guy Bates Post, recently signed by Sol Lesser to star under the auspices of Principal Pictures, starts work this week on the first of his series under the direction of Robert T. Thornby. Casting is now under way for Principal Pictures' adaptation of George Cohan's " The Meanest Man in the World." Work will start under the direction of Edward Cline as soon as the script is ready. " East Side West Side " will be produced at Hollywood with Kenneth Harlan and Eileen Percy in the featured roles. Hope Loring and William R. Leighton adapted the subject for the screen. Work on this subject started this week. The Guy Bates Post production will be made at the Ince Studios in Culver City. Cast Assembled for "Wandering Daughters 9 9 James Young, who is making his initial independent production for First National release, has gathered together the following for the cast in " Wandering Daughters," which is based on the magazine story by Dana Burnett. Marguerite de la Motte (the feminine lead), William V. Mong, Noah Beery, Pat O'Malley, Allen Forrest, Mabel Van Buren and Alice Howell. The picture is being made at the United Studios in Hollywood. Russell Film to Be Issued as "Good Bye, Girls" William Russell's latest Fox release, which was called first " McPhee's Sensational Rest ' and then changed to " Wanted — A Wife,* will be given to the public under the title " Good-Bye Girls." It is a melodramatic comedy and was written by George Foxall. Jerome Storm directed it. Carmel Myers is Mr. Russell's leading support. Scenes from the Blazed Trail Productions, Inc., offering " Lost in a Big City," directed by George Irving and on the Arrow release schedule
