The production has been placed on April feature schedule of F. B. O., and will be issued with a complete line of advertising accessories. "Are You a Failure?" Due for March Release Torn Forman's second production for Preferred Pictures, " Are You a Failure"? " is this month's release on the schedule of the Al Lichtman Corporation. Prints are now in the Lichtman exchanges ready for exhibition March 15th. " Are You a Failure ? " is a comedy-drama written by Larry Evans and presented by B. P. Sehulberg. It features an all-star cast including Madge Bellemy, Lloyd Hughes, Tom Santschi, and Hal Cooley. "Secrets of Paris ' 1 Given Special Showing " Secrets of Paris," the Whitman BennettC. C. Burr production of Eugene Sue's famous novel of the Paris underworld " Mysteries of Paris," was given a special showing Sunday, March 4th, at the George M. Cohan theatre on Broadway and Forty-second street. The Cohen theatre is a legitimate house, but was taken over for this showing. Scenes from the Grace Haskins production " Just Like a Woman," with Marguerite De La Motte — a Hodkinson picture. Samuel Schwartzman Is Made Lichtman Counsel Samuel Schwartzman has been appointed General Counsel of Preferred Pictures and the Al Lichtman Corporation, according to an announcement made by J. G. Bachmann. Mr. Schwartzman has been prominently identified with the film industry for the past five years. Advertising Manager for Cosmopolitan Is Named PATRICK KEARNEY, for the past five years associated with the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, resigned this week to become advertising manager of Cosmopolitan Productions. Mr. Kearney has been for the past two years assistant to A. M. Botsford, advertising manager, in charge of trade advertising. Before that he was editor of the Paramount House Organ, and for a time was associated with the publicity department at the Hollywood studio. Mr. Kearney has been connected with the film industry since 1915, when he was editor of the Motion Picture Mail. Paramount Extends Exploitation to Mexico City Famous Players-Lasky Corporation has extended its exploitation activities to Mexico City, and E. E. Shauer, manager of the foreign department, announces the appointment of Leon J. Bamberger, assistant manager of the division of exploitation, as the representative. Mr. Bamberger will be temporarily attached to the Mexico City exchange, and his chief activities will concern the exhibition of Paramount Pictures at the Olympia theatre. Universal Has Completed "The Town Scandal" A new flapper romance starring Gladys Walton has just been completed at Universal City. It is " The Town Scandal." The original title was " The Chicken That Came Home to Roost," and it was a story in the Cosmopolitan magazine of a recent issue, written by Frederick Arnold Kummer. King Baggot, director of " Human Hearts " and " The Kentucky Derby," guided the filming of this story from a continuity by Hugh Hoffman. Supporting Gladys Walton in this picture are Edward Hearn, Charles Hill Mailes, Edward McWade, William Welsh, William Franey, Anna Hernandez, Virginia Boardman, Rosa Gore, Nadine Beresford, Louise Barnes and Margaret Morris. Paramount presents James Cruze's production " Th from Emerson Hough's novel of ; Covered Wagon," adapted by Jack Cunningham the conquest of the great west. "Balance Due" New Story for Shirley Mason GEORGE SCARBOROUGH is the author of " Balance Due," a new story for Shirley Mason which is being produced by William Fox, under the direction of Henry Otto. Albert Roscoe, who has been identified with several Fox successes, is the leading man in the Mason cast.
