2038 Motion Picture News Goldwyn's Cosmopolitan Releases "Enemies of Women" and "Little Old New York" Head Fifteen Productions FIFTEEN pictures produced by Cosmopolitan Productions will be distributed for next season in conjunction with the Goldwyn Distributing Corporation. This release list follows the merger for distribution recently consummated by William Randolph Hearst and F. J. Godsol. "Enemies of Women"' now enjoying a run at the Central theatre and Marion Davies in "Little Old New York'7 will be the first two releases. New Stories Purchased for Talmadge Sisters Joseph M. Schenck this week announces the purchase of two stories for production in the near future with Norma and Constance Talmadge as the respective stars. "Secrets," a Broadway stage success now running at the Fulton Theatre with Margaret Lawrence in the featured role, will serve as a vehicle for Norma, and Constance will appear in "Barbara Winslow, Rebel," from the novel by Elizabeth Ellis, an English authoress. Holbrook Blinn to Appear in "The Bad Man" Holbrook Blinn, who starred in " The Bad Man " during its run on Broadway two seasons ago and on the road since, will appear in the same part in Edwin Carewe's screen production of the play, which will be distributed through First National. The announcement that Blinn has been secured to interpret the stellar role was made by Carewe before leaving Los Angeles for Atlantic City, where he will attend the First National convention. M 1 Bobby Vernon in scenes from " Take Your Choice," an Educational-Christie comedy. Gould ing Completes Script of "Broadway after Dark Edmund Goulding, who was engaged by the Warner Brothers to adapt several plays, has completed the script of "Broadway After Dark," which will be produced under the supervision of Harry Rapf, for the Warner organization. This production will, in all probability, be used as a starring vehicle for Marie Prevost. No director, however, has been assigned to direct the picture. Mr. Goulding was personally selected by David Belasco to adapt the Belasco stage success, "Tiger Rose," which will feature Lenore Ulric. He has already started work on the adaptation. Sidney Franklin will direct the production, the actual shooting of which will begin on or about the first of June. Some moments taken from the First National release titled " Within the Lau Joseph M. Schenck presents Norma Talmadge in the starring role in' which Donald Crisp Back in U. S. as Paramount Director After two years in England, Director Donald Crisp is back in the United States and on his way to California where he will remain until about the middle of May. He has signed a new contract with the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and will be back in New York in June to direct Elsie Ferguson in "Declassee." the recent stage success which will be made into a Paramount picture at the Long Island studio. At the London studio of the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, which has now been closed, he directed "The Bonnie Brier Bush," "Appearances" and "The Princess of New York."
