Famous bull-fighter, the idol of Spain, marries his childhood sweetheart, but forsakes her for a soulless, sensual woman. When his mistress humiliates him he pleads with his wife that every man has two loves — the fine and the base. She wants to forgive him but cannot. Unnerved, the bull fighter enters the ring and for the last time — he misses his aim and is gored by the enraged animal.
