October 7, 1916 MOTION PICTURE NEWS ~ 2105 PARAMOUNT PICTURES OF THE WEEK RELEASED THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 1916 JESSE L. LASKY presents THEODORE ROBERTS and ANITA KING in ANTON THE TERRIBLE THEODORE ROBERTS has long been known as the greatest living character actor on the American stage ! You are familiar with his remarkable screen successes. Now we wish to say with all the emphasis we can enlist that Theodore Roberts has never acted with such terrific effect as in the character of Anton, the brutal Cossack Chief of Police. Anita King is the famous Paramount Girl who gained nation-wide publicity by her wonderful automobile dash cross-continent. Alone, either of these stars would create the sensation you expect from a Paramount feature. Together, they will arouse a tornado of interest. The picture is a dramatization by Jules Eckert Goodman of the story that made such a stir when first published in the Saturday Evening Post. It is beautifully presented — but that is an unnecessary statement to make to Paramount exhibitors. Produced by Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Co. JESSE L. LASKY President ARTHUR S.
