Motion Picture News was the leading film industry trade journal during the 1920s. Founded in 1908 as a counterweight to the dominant Moving Picture World, the News was the voice for the independent, non-Trust, producers. Later Motion Picture News expanded its coverage to the entire industry, supporting the independent exhibitor with objective film reviews, summaries of programs at theatres across the nation, activities of regional exchanges in the cities with regional exchanges, and excellent coverage of the coming of sound and screenings and stage shots at the major New York City theatres. -- David Pierce, 2013

Possibly you arc one of those mothers who think that life should not be talked over. Your daughter faces the world improperly fortified against the temptations with which she will be surrounded. Ignorance is danger. You trust to her natural instinct to do right. But a stronger will than hers may break down such barriers. The greater the lack of knowledge, the greater the dependence your daughter will place in those who profess friendship. She loves to please the one who may be looked up to by her as the acme of all that is good and great and honorable. Promises are looked upon as binding as signed documents. Give your daughter the knowledge which is a strong shield in time of temptation. But the danger of forbidden paths does not present itself until the awakened conscience begins to sting. N. Y.
