2042 Motion Picture N ti 1 THE BOSS OF THE-M ALL "MA" WARNER DAVID WARMER Warner jBrothers Erect House in Home Town as a Tribute of Devotion to Father Build Theatre in Niles, Ohio, in Place Where They Made Their Start — Present It to Benj. Warner When the Warner Theatre was erected recently at Niles, Ohio, on the site of the old Opera House that had been burned down the year before, citizens of that town saw only a modern theatre, embracing the latest refinements and innovations designed for refined entertainment and the comfort of its patrons, not knowing that the walls of the house stood as a monument and tribute of filial devotion — that of the five Warner brothers for their father, Benjamin Warner. The Warner " boys " received their start in Niles — the first exhibition of moving pictures in that town being given by Albert Warner. But although they went forth into commercial fields, Niles always remained the center of their thoughts. Some time ago the theatre of which their father, Benjamin Warner, was manager, burned to the ground, and caused the sons to come to the decision to erect on the spot a temple of the motion picture art which would stand as a tribute to the parents whose love and devotion have given them the strength to fight the battles of life, and also as a mark of gratitude to the community which had given them their start in business. In this house will be shown for the first time all the productions bearing the name of Warner — and on the opening night every foot of film that was flashed on the screen was a Warner product. Thus the whole project was Warner — the house conceived, executed and financed by them — and all the attractions bearing the names of the Warners — Harry M., Albert, Jack L., David and Samuel L. Warner. The structure of the theatre itself is unique in many respects. It is built with a seating capacity of nine hundred, and is arranged so that at any time it appears to be needed a balcony can be placed in, bringing the number of seats in the house up to fifteen hundred. The projection room of the Warner Theatre is the largest in the city of Niles. It is eight feet deep and extends the whole of the 54 foot width of the house. A batter}' of two Simplex machines projects the pictures 120 feet to the screen. A special system designed by the architect of the theatre keeps the house cooled by air. A large organ was installed in order to present musical numbers that would be equal to the high class of 1 presented. The seats in the theatre all upholstered with leather, and are signed principally for the comfort of patron. All the comfort facilities ar the type of which metropolitan ho w ould be proud. The citizens of I should be well pleased with the War for the modern house which they j built for that town. The pictures presented on the ope night were the feature, " Why ( Leave Home," the jungle produc " Miracles of the Jungle," and a cor number featuring the Warner Monty Banks. Plan Theatre for Lah Placid It is planned to erect a house at I Placid, N.
