Gooley, ACL, has been at work on a 16mm., 1200 foot black and white film with sound, entitled After Prison, What? The picture, now nearing completion, revolves around prisons and reformatories in connection with the activities and interests of Mr. Gooley, who is director of the Department of Investigation of the Illinois Association of Mail Order Men. To make it, Mr. Gooley has made tours of various American prisons during the past three summers. Howard F. Miller cooperated in the production when he filmed a series of scenes for Mr. Gooley in Columbus, Ohio. Wheaton Film Presented before a gathering of several hundred officers, alumnae and guests of Wheaton College, Old Ideals and New Horizons, a new film of the century old women's school at Norton, Mass., has had its premier screening at the Hotel Barbizon, in New York City. The picture runs 800 feet of 16mm. Kodachrome, and it was produced by Robert F. Gowen, ACL, of Ossining, N. Y. Mrs. Richard H. Whelpley, president of the New York Wheaton College Alumnae Club, was in charge of production for the Wheaton College Alumnae Association, sponsors of the film. Designed to interest parents and prospective students, Old Ideals and New Horizons stresses the friendly and democratic New England background of Wheaton, both in its title wordings and in its scene treatment. In the musical division, Mr. Morton took first and second awards with The Utah Trail and Say It With Flowers, with Mr. Geurts in third place for his Gold Is Where You Find It. In the Class A silent entries, Mr. Geurts reversed the order, taking first award for Snap Happy, over Mr. Morton's The Amateur and R. LeRoy Fletcher, ACL, with Snoiv White and Rose Red. Place winners in Class B were Theo Merrill, with his own version of the same fairy tale, and John Huefner, for The Pioneer Trail. The contest winners were announced and the films were screened at the club's Sixth Annual Banquet, at which time the group installed newly elected officers for the year. These are Mr. Geurts, president; Wendell Taylor, vicepresident; Mr. Huefner, secretary; Mr. Merrill, treasurer.
