— CADL LAEMMLE O/Z&rs ^l^S^^l^S: ^^^^ /// FOR UNDER CRIMSON SKIES^ firm. This beach is the undisputed habitation of the beach-combers, the lost souls of four coninents, the dregs of civilization tossed ashore and forgotten. The king pin of this fierce looking aggregation is the Barbary Bucko, wanted from Frisco to Singapore for killing" and mutiny on the high seas. His rule was absolute, his favor cringingly sought by the bauble belles of this bedlam until Captain Barstow swam to the dangerous haven through the shark-infested bay dragging his wounded mate with him. In a furious battle he worsted the Barbary Bucko and in turn became king of the beach-combers. Then one day came a soldier from across the bay. Other soldiers had come before, but they never went back. This one resigned on the spot. He told Barstow of the danger to the woman for whose sake he had permitted his lips to be sealed. Summoning his piratical, black and tan army, the Captain shouted, "To the boats, men, we'll show these tin soldiers how the beach-combers can fight." Its great stuff.
