January 19, 1924 MOVING PICTURE WORLD 225 SCENE FROM VITAGRAPH'S "LET NOT MAN PUT ASUNDER" SAVING SISTER SUSIE. (Educational). You find this to be a fine little comedy, will please the ladies. Not so much for kids. A fine comedy, brother exhibitor, if you run this one. Sit down and book it over, it's the keenest have run for a long time. William Thacher, Royal Theatre, Salina, Kansas. WHERE IS MY WANDERING HOY THIS EVENING? (Pathe). Star, Ben Turpin. Not as good as the usual run of comedies. Couldn't be compared to the Sunshine brand. Draw working class in town of 3,500. Admission 10-25. H. W. Nauman, Majestic Theatre (300 seats), Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Short Subjects AESOP'S FABLES. They are "different," always amusing and fit in nicely with almost any kind of program. Draw town and country class in town of 700. Admission 10-25. J. B. Carter, Electric Theatre (250 seats), Browning, Missouri. BILL BRENNEN'S CLAIM. (Universal). Good program picture. William Noble, Rialto Theatre, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. REVELATIONS. (General Electric Co.). A picture telling in a very nice manner the story of the modern X ray. Our patrons appreciate, as we do, the use of these films, free of charge. Very good. Had good attendance. H. W. Mathers, Morris Run Theatre, Morris Run, Pennsylvania. State Rights BELOW RIO GRANDE. (Crescent Films). Star, Neal Hart. Not as good as some of his former pictures. Too much Mexican stuff, and too many dark scenes. Get away from dark scenes. Especially too dark, or stuff that you can't see. This is only a fair picture. William Thacher, Royal Theatre, Salina, Kansas. CHICAGO SAL. (All Star Production). Star cast. Good picture with Sills stealing the honors. Alice Lake doesn't mean much. This picture went over pretty well though at that. Advertising slants, crook cabaret stuff, down on the farm angle. Had fair attendance. Draw middle and lower class in city of 600.000. Admission 10-15, 10-25. Joseph F. Enos, New Lyceum Theatre (1,600 seats). San Francisco, California. GOLDEN FLAME. (Independent). Star, Dick Hatton. A good western drama of the open air mining camp type. The characters are convincing and parts well taken, and where action picturps are the go this one will satisfy. Good business for one night stand. Draw general class in city of 15,000. Ben L. Morris, Temple and Olympic Theatres, Bellaire, Ohio. HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD? (Equity). Star cast. (6,407 feet). Has a good title but that's about all. Would do for one day if bought right. One good cabaret scene and the rest just ordinary. It is hardly suitable for Sunday. Had fair attendance. Draw family and student class in town of 4,000. Admission 10-25. R. J. Relf, Star Theatre (600 seats), Decorah, Iowa. LITTLE RED SCHOOL HOUSE. (Arrow). Star, Martha Mansfield. (5,700 feet). Very misleading title. A disgrace to the teachers and principal who attended. Attendance good. Moral tone not very bad and not suitable for Sunday. Had good attendance. Draw mixed class in city of 12,000. Admission 10-25. C. G. Couch, Grand Theatre (288 seats), Carnegie, Pennsylvania. LUCK. (C. C. Burr). Star, Johnny Hones. (6 reels). Average but played "Little Johnny Jones" first, which is better, so hurt this. Men and kids liked it O. K. Possibly suitable for Sunday. Had fair attendance. Draw family and student class in town of 4,000. Admission 10-25. R. J. Relf, Star Theatre (600 seats), Decorah, Iowa. MOTION TO ADJOURN. (Arrow). Star, Roy Stewart. (5 reels). Couldn't see this one at all. Don't know what they were trying to make. Suitable for Sunday. Had good attendance. Draw working class In city of 14,000. Admission 10-20. G. M. Bertling, Favorite Theatre (187 seats), Piqua, Ohio. TEMPORARY MARRIAGE. (Principle Pictures). (7,000 feet). Star cast. A very good picture but of the "High Brow" type. Drew well on opening day, but slumped badly second and third day. Court scene in this production is a wonderful piece of work. Small places playing pictures of this type should only run them two days. Moral tone good and is suitable for Sunday. Had low attendance. Draw general class in town of 9,000. Edwin F. Allman, Pike Theatre, Dover, Ohio. WITH WINGS OUTSPREAD. (Standard). Star cast. (5 reels). Just a fair program picture. Showed one day, with "Haunted Valley" serial to a good business. • William Thacher, Royal Theatre, Salina, Kansas. WORLD'S A STAGE. (Principal). (6,000 feet). Star, Dorothy Phillips. Just a fair entertainment. Fair moral tone. Suitable for Sunday. Had fair attendance of better class in town of 7,200. Admission 10-22-28. K. H. Sink, Wayne Theatre (500 seats), Greenville, Ohio. YANKEE DOODLE JR. (Richard & Flynn Film Co.) Star cast. (5 reels). Lay off of this one. We ran it one day to no business. No moral. Might say this is the poorest one have run in two years. Nuff sed.
