752 Moving Picture World February 20, 1926 Howells Cine Equipment Has a Finer Home For Fine Equipment New Quarters at 1560 Broadway Look Great; Equipment Gets Its Due in Display Space ; Tribute to Ability of Joe Hornstein, et al C"^ OME on over and see our new quarters at 1560 Broadway," phoned Mr. Solomon, for Joe Hornstein, of Howells Cine Equipment Corp. Well, when a chap can sell sixty-five Simplex projectors in one week, he's entitled to consideration, so we yanked ourselves away from a heap of work and slopped through snow and sleet to the Embassy Theatre Building — and — Gosh I That third floor equipment palace Joe has gone into certainly does give dignity and importance to his displays of fine e'iuipment. From the minute you walk into the big room with its wide windows letting in plenty of light — Joe isn't ashamed to let his equipment be seen ! — you get the impression that there is something more to equipment than just a lot of stuff you have to buy. You realize that it's something manufactured with craftsmanship, finished with pride, displayed with a sense of its value. Joe Hornstein has been a consistent work er for the cause of the exhibitor, emphasizing the quality that should go into the things an audience doesn't always see but which contribute to his enjoyment of a picture, urging that such things be installed properly and kept in perfect working condition. His new show-place is one that bears out this idea. The spacious room allows him to demonstrate everything with dignity; his splendid repair room is already a busy spot and the boys working there look not only busy but able as they go at their jobs. The very impressive offices occupied by Mr. Hornstein and the members of his staflf carry out the effect of dignity combined with efficiency. Take it all in all, you — whether you're an exhibitor looking for the better grade of equipment, or just a chap interested in seeing equipment given its proper importance — will certainly be glad to hand it to Joe for his push and perseverance — qualities that have landed his organization in as fine an equipment distributing environment as we have ever seen. Parkershurg Strand Opened The Strand Amusement Company sent us an invitation to attend the opening of their Strand Theatre, Parkersburg, West Virginia, but with carfare what it is and YOUR EQUIPMENT keeping a fellow hopping to get big plans through for reader-interest material, the opening had to go through without one invitation being accepted — so of course the said opening was a big success!
