PR-17A-9-45 April 1, 1952 TWO APPOINTMENTS TO COAST SPOT SALES OFFICE OF NBC ANNOUNCED In line with the recently-announced expansion of the National Spot Sales Department of the National Broadcasting Company, two new appointments have been made in the network's San Francisco Spot Sales office . p Carl Nielsen, formerly NBC representative for both radio and television Spot Sales, has been named TV representative, and Heber Smith, of the Sales Department of radio station KNBC, has been appointed Radio Spot Sales representative. Nielsen has been with NBC since 1943 # and has been National Spot Sales representative in San Francisco since June, 1944. Smith joined NBC in January, 1951# as a salesman with KNBC. His business experience includes service with station KJBS as a sales¬ man and a period with the Promotion Department of the Oakland, Calif., Tribune. Nielsen will report directly to John H.
