NBC -TV PROGRAM * SKY KING, 1 LONG A FAVORITE ON RADIO, WILL BE SEEN NOW ON NBC -TV * Sky King, the V/estern hero of the air, will fly the range on TV for the first time in a new series of ad¬ venture films produced especially for showing on THE SKY KING THEATER, starting Sunday, April 13 (NBC-TV, 5:30 to 6:00; please contact your local station for other times for showing. Program is seen on alternate Sundays). For the past six years, the high-flying Sky King has built up an enthusiastic following of young fans in his radio series. Amply filling his boots in the TV role will be cowboy film star Grant Kirby in the title role of the 35-year-old pilot -rancher . As Sky King, he is as much at home at the controls of his plane as he is in the saddle of his horse as he roams the Arizona range in search of adventure. Other regulars in the cast are Gloria Winters and Ron Haggerty, who play Penny and Clip¬ per, his lively teen-age niece and nephew. The films are being produced in Hollywood by the Jack Chertock Television Company. The sponsor is Derby Foods, makers of Peter Pan peanut butter. NBC -New York, 4/1/52
