NBC RADIO NEWS fTHE LIVING WORD, f NEW SERIES OP DRAMATIC READINGS PROM THE BIBLE, TO BE OFFERED ON NBC RADIO A new series of dramatic readings from the Bible will be pre¬ sented by NBC radio under auspices of Protestant, Catholic and Jewish faiths, in turn, under the title THE LIVING WORD, on Sundays (network except WNBC, 11:45-12:00 noon, EST). In October and November, the program will be produced in co¬ operation with the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A,, vith readings selected from the new Revised Standard Version, just published. On the initial broadcast, Sunday, Oct. 5* Rock Rogers will be narrator, and Dr. James Muilenburg of Union Theological Seminary, New York City, will give a brief historical introduction. Dr. Muilen¬ burg is one of the 27 scholars who translated the Revised Standard Version. Plans call for future broadcasts in cooperation with the Nat¬ ional Council of Catholic Men and with the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. In most cases, the readings will be selected in accordance with the liturgical years of the participating religions. Whenever possible, selections will be taken from the most recently authorized versions of the respective Bibles. Marilyn Kaemmerle will be producer and Fred Weihe director. o NBC -New York, 10/l/52
