2 News Film Anniversary In the last eight years the NBC news film operation has mushroomed from a tiny organization with only two film editors to a huge, world-wide service with newsmen and cameramen spotted .at all strategic points on the globe where Americans are permitted. The NBC news film organization today is larger than that of any theatre newsreel company, any other network or any other news film company. In one year, NBC films roughly 2,500,000 feet of raw stock on its own, on both 16 and 35 nun film. If this film were all shown, it would amount to about 300 solid hours of film. The network is the largest consumer of film in the country, and the best of this film is seen on the nation’s TV screens in the 100 stories that NBC cameramen shoot on the average each week. To insure that NBC is first with the best in news film, the network has correspondents in all the major news centers. There are NBC staff men in London, Berlin, Munich, Mexico City, Tokyo, Korea, Frankfort and the other vital news areas. In addition, NBC camera correspondents will be found at such far-away places as Nairobi, Cape¬ town, Brazzaville, Tel Aviv, Cairo, Beirut, Istanbul, Cyprus, Jakarta, Wellington, Karachi, Indo-China, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Formosa, Santiago and Helsinki, NBC also has first call on the films of seven major foreign newsreel companies to supplement its own overseas supply.
