June 23 , 195^ <> ‘CAVALCADE OP SPORTS* TO PRESENT HIGHLIGHTS OP EVENTS HERE AND ABROAD IN WEEKLY TELECASTS jz. n •Mr •vir PREMIERE "Highlights of the Week in the World of Sports," a GILLETTE CAVALCADE OP SPORTS presentation, will be a Summer series in place of the regular weekly boxing telecasts on NBC -TV Friday , July 2 (1010:30 p.m. , EDT) . With the exception of the telecast of the Bobo Olson-Rocky Castellani middleweight championship bout from San Francisco on Aug. 20, the "Cavalcade of Sports" coverage of boxing will not be resum¬ ed on a regular basis until Friday, Sept. 3. "Highlights" is a half-hour of newsreel coverage of import¬ ant sports events both here and abroad. Baseball, racing, golf, tennis and other Summer sports all will be covered in the series. Commenta¬ tors to be heard include Bob Wilson, Gene Kelly, Byrum Saam and Jim Learning. The series will be sponsored by the Gillette Safety Razor Company. Maxon, Inc., is the agency. The program will be produced by Tel-Ra Productions. o
