COLOR TELEVISION NEWS GORDON MacRAE AND PATRICIA MORISON TO STAR IN FIRST TV VERSION OF VICTOR HERBERT'S "EILEEN" ON "LUX VIDEO THEATRE " "Eileen," Victor Herbert's romantic, musical story of a handsome fighting Irish soldier who risks his safety for the love of a haughty beauty during the 1798 rebellion, will star Gordon MacRae and Patricia Morison on LUX VIDEO THEATRE Thursday, March 14 (NBC-TV, 10 p.m., EST in color and in black and white). It will mark the first time the famous musical has been presented on television. MacRae will sing "Thine Alone" and several other songs. He will portray Captain Barry Q'Day, a leader of the Irish rebels. With a price on his head, he returns to Ireland from France to recruit his countrymen for a French Army to help Ireland win its freedom from England, O'Day rescues beautiful Eileen and her aunt. Lady Maude Estabrooke (Patricia Morison), from a belligerent band of peasants and immediately falls in love with her. Eileen, thinking him a groom - the disguise by which he eludes the British - resents his overtures. Later she discovers his identity, and being in love with him, she almost betrays him through her anxiety for his safety.
