She was chosen as "the girl any American man would love to meet under the mistletoe." The committee added, "In selecting our Miss Mistletoe, we looked for a girl with the dignity and ladylike qualities of a real queen, and we felt the popular Miss Corey could best fill this bill, also ably representing the romantic tradition of mistletoe at Christmas." l®C-New York, 11/18/57
