November 19, 1957 OHIO EDUCATION ASSOCIATION GIVES NBC‘S "MEET THE PRESS" FIRST PLACE AMONG ADULT TELEVISION PROGRAMS NBC’s MEET THE PRESS has been voted first place among adult television programs by the Ohio Education Association. "Meet the Press" was nominated for the honor by 300 local education associations throughout Ohio and then selected by 30 panels of school teachers. An award to the program will be presented Friday, Nov. 22, at Columbus, Ohio. Voting took place in three program categories - adult television, adult radio and children’s television. Last year's winner in the adult television division was NBC -TV's "Wide Wide World." "Meet the Press" is produced by Lawrence Spivak. It is scheduled over NBC-TV from 6-6:30 p.m,, EST, Sundays, and on NBC Radio as part of "Monitor" from 6:30-7 p.m., EST, Sundays. Ned Brooks is moderator.
