Roger Eden3, noted Hollywood motion picture producer, has been signed by Hubbell Robinson Productions, Inc., to produce, stage and write special material for "An Evening with Miss Ethel Merman his first television assignment - on "Startime," the NBC-TV Network's Tuesday night series of the biggest colorcast specials ever presented
on TV for one sponsor, the Ford Motor Company.
"An Evening with Miss Ethel Merman" will be colorcast on the NBC-TV Network Tuesday, Dec. 1 (9i30~1C:30 p.m. EST) . (NOTE_TO EDITORS: Title of this special has been changed; it was previously
listed as "The Ethel Merman Show.")
According to executive producer Hubbell Robinson, the musi¬ cal variety presentation will feature highlights of Miss Merman’s career in song and dance — from her show-stopping Broadway debut in
"Girl Crazy" to her current hit performance in "Gypsy."
Mr. Edens has been associated with M-G-M for several years in the capacity of associate producer and producer. His film produc¬ tion credits include "The Barkleys of Broadway," "The Harvey Girls, "Good News," "Silk Stockings" and, most recently, "Funny Face," which co-starred Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn. Mr. Edens has also worked with top motion picture and Broadway musical comedy stars in preparing
special material and writing musical numbers.
